Our Story
Bolivar Lounge is a labor of love for Charlie Guluzian, an aficionado with over 20 years in the cigar industry.
“After 20 years in this business, I can tell you which cigar I am smoking without seeing its label. I love to share my knowledge and to help customers and members discover cigars that they will love.”
Charlie began his career working in a Beverly Hills, California cigar lounge. After seven years there, he moved to Austin in 1994 to open the first smoking lounge in Texas. Success and growth led Charlie to move to the larger present location on Congress Avenue.
While in Austin, Charlie has had the pleasure of serving governors, legislators, lawyers, businessmen, Hollywood actors, professional athletes, and cigar lovers of all kinds.
“It’s not about the place, it’s about service — educating and teaching. Smoking fine cigars is a lifestyle and I am privilaged to make my living sharing that lifestyle with my friends.”
